On February 10th, the officials of Douyin, Kuaishou and WeChat released the governance announcements of illegal micro-short dramas respectively.

Douyin: 585 illegal micro-dramas were intercepted and shelved in January, and the audit was strengthened.

According to the Douyin Security Center, in January, the platform intercepted and removed a total of 585 non-compliant micro-dramas. A large number were blocked during the review stage and never went live, while some were taken down after re-examination.

Douyin said that it is committed to creating a positive, open and friendly community environment, and continues to promote the content governance of micro-episodes, encouraging and promoting high-quality micro-episodes, and continues to govern micro-episodes that contain illegal content such as bad value orientation, violation of public order and morals, and vulgarity, as well as related illegal accounts.

Kuaishou: Accumulated front-loaded interception, rectification and shelving of more than 1,000 illegal micro short plays

According to the Kuaishou Blackboard News, recently, the platform found in its review and inspection that some short dramas have poor titles and deviations, and there are illegal dramas that "change vests" to spread, destroying the healthy ecology of the community. In accordance with the relevant requirements and community rules for online audio-visual management, the platform has intercepted, rectified, and removed more than a thousand illegal short dramas, and reported those with serious violations to the "blacklist" of online short dramas.

Kuaishou said that Kuaishou is committed to building a positive and healthy online community. In order to promote the healthy and orderly development of the short drama industry in a compliant and legal direction, the platform strictly implements its main responsibilities, encourages creators to create positive, active, and original online short dramas, continuously strengthens the compliance management of relevant institutions, and continues to promote the further governance of illegal short dramas.

WeChat: downscale part of the illegal micro short drama repertoire, dispose of the relevant illegal small program

WeChat said that the platform has taken down some of the illegal micro-episodic dramas and disposed of the relevant illegal small programs. Afterwards, WeChat will continue to guide the standardized development of micro-episodic small programs to provide better services for the operators of the network audiovisual content creation, and create a clearer network audiovisual space.
